The College’s top 4 girls’ and top 4 boys’ tennis players played their first match of the season against Durbanville High School on their courts on Wednesday afternoon. The boys played to a 3-3 draw after the doubles combinations of Charles Fauël and Tanguy Jongen and Clive Nicolle and Jacques Morris won their doubles matches. In the singles, however, Jacques Morris was the only player who scored a victory for the College.
The girls faced tough opposition and managed to win only one match when Rebecca Brody and Tegan O’Grady won their doubles. In their singles and doubles matches Kiera van Eeden and Oliva Fauël who played at number one and two respectively were unfortunate not to score victories as their scores were close.
This Wednesday the College will be travelling to Moorreesburg with 16 tennis players for the annual Derby match against Dirkie Uys High School.
