Message from the Head – Mr Craig Verdal-Austin

Welcome to Somerset College Preparatory School!

I have the privilege of leading this wonderful and special school. As a staff, we are excited to care for your children in a nurturing and caring environment. Our aim is to know your child and to grow them as individuals. We are in a partnership to equip your children with the necessary skills to add value to an ever changing society.

The Prep School holds a balance of Academic, Cultural and Sporting opportunities. We believe in the holistic development of your child. Our values of dignity, aspiration, creativity and contribution are at the forefront of all that we do. We offer a world class standard of education and we strive for excellence according to each child’s unique ability. Our Christian foundation is of the utmost importance to us as we lead respect across all religions.

I welcome you to visit our school on any day of the week. Please feel free to pop in and visit our classrooms. You will find the corridors filled with fun and laughter. We are a school where sound discipline is balanced with care and love. You will see a curriculum enriched with relevance and creativity. You will sense a passionate staff committed to their tasks ensuring best practice. This all takes place in a secure and safe environment in which all constituents can thrive.

Please do not hesitate to contact me should you deem it necessary. My door is always open and I welcome the opportunity to meet with you to discuss your child’s progress and development. I believe in holding learning conversations as we partner together in a nurturing environment.
