Cricketing News (3rd & 4th Term)

The 1st Team have been away on two tours, to Pearson High School and George/Oudtshoorn and have played in the Parklands T20 Tournament.

Pearson Festival:
Played two T20 games,
Beat Union High School by 31 runs.
Somerset College 161 for 3 (Whaits 68, Henderson 53 not out)
Union High 130 for 2, Somerset College
Lost to Pearson High School by 5 wickets.
SC 61 all out.
Pearson 63 for 5.

Played in a time game against Graeme College.
Somerset College batted first scoring 228, (Henderson 60, Madhombiro 61 and Beattie 30).
Graeme College were 96 for 8 when they declared. The game was a draw.
Our last game was against Woodridge College, we lost convincingly.
Woodridge 321 for 8.
Somerset College 158 all out. (Madhombiro 78)

Parklands T20 Tournament
Beat Reddam in first game by 15 runs.
Played Parklands in final, won by 30 runs.
Somerset College won the inaugural Parklands T20 Tournament.
Daniel Holloway was awarded the Best Bowler of the day.

1st Team Tour to George/Oudtshoorn:
Rained out in T20 vs Outenique
Beat Glenwood House.
Beat SWD Hub team, Somerset College 284 for 5. (Whaits 99, Henderson 91)
SWD Hub 157 all out (Raggett 4 for 34)
Rained out against Langenhoven Gym.
Langenhoven Gym scored 320, Somerset College were 178 for 2 in 31 overs. (Henderson 78 not out, Mntungwa 55.)

U15/14 in George/Oudtshoorn:
Rained out against Outenique
Lost to Glenwood House.
Lost to SWD Hub.
Rained out against D’Almeida Hub in Mossel Bay.

Under 14 Tour to Worcester Gym:
Game 1:

Beat Stellenberg by 60 runs.
Somerset College 178 for 6, (James Visagie 62 not out.)
Stellenberg 90 all out.(Plotz and Geard 3 wickets each)

Game 2:
Beat Worcetser Gym by 9 wickets.
Worcester Gym 90 all out,( Cunningham 2 for 10 in 9 overs, Visagie, 3 for 8 in 6 overs)
Somerset College 92 for 1, (Beart 42)

Game 3:
Beat Brackenfell by 202 runs.
Somerset College 252 in 45 overs.( Visagie 46, Bayer 36 and Bamford 30)
Brackenfell 50 all out. (Bidoli 3 wickets)
Shared Best Team at Festival with Bellville who were also unbeaten.

1st team bowled Reeds out for 105
Somerset College scored 85
Somerset College lost by 20 runs

26 October: Freemans School (UK)
1st Team scored 155, ( Mntungwa 58 not out, Raggett 47)
Freemans bowled out for 55. ( Raggett 5 for 13)
Somerset College won by 100 runs.

27 October: London Schools
Boys are selected from 20 different London Schools.
Under 14 A played their Under 14 A team, after a very spirited effort we lost by 5 wickets.
The Under 13 A played their Under 14 B team and were outplayed by bigger, older boys.

27 October: Somerset College Under 14A vs Paulus Joubert Under 15
Somerset College lost by 160 runs.
