Cricket results for 3 March 2018

U14A vs SACS U14B
Somerset College scored 216 in 35 overs Oliver Pritchett 64, Ben Chaplin 61.

SACS U14B 118 all out. College won by 98 runs.

U15 vs Stellenbosch Hub
Somerset College scored 239 in 35 overs. James Visagie 47, Juan Lindeque 64.

Stellenbosch Hub 85 all out. Josh Beart and James Visagie both took 3 wickets. Somerset College won by 154 runs.

2nd Team vs PV in their derby match
Somerset College batted first and scored 264 for 7. Jake Botha 50, Chris Burgess 49 and Michael Atkinson 44.

The bowlers and fielders did exceptionally well and bowled PV out for 71. Akhanya Mbengashe, Michael Atkinson and Justin Whitfield all took two wickets. Somerset College won by 193 runs.

Mr Hill would just like to thank the 2nd side for their positive attitude and their enthusiasm throughout the season. This side has worked extremely hard at practices and it showed in this last result.

1st Team vs Old Oaks
The Old Oaks batted first and scored a credible 169. 2014 Captain Elliot Moses top scored with 69.

Somerset College 1st team scored a disappointing 124 all out. The Old Oaks won by 45 runs.


The annual PV Cricket Derby against PV will take place on Friday and Saturday at Somerset College.

The 1st Team plays the Ashes in a 2 day game which starts at 09:00 on Friday, 9 March.

Please come and support the 1st team with Sam, Jacques, Tyler and Nic playing in their last game for the College. We have won the Ashes for the last 16 years and would like to keep this run going!
