Somerset College is a leading independent, co-educational day and boarding school offering schooling from Grade 000 to Matric - IEB and Cambridge AS and A-levels. Founded in 1997, Somerset College is a welcoming, stimulating centre of learning situated in the beautiful Cape Winelands.

The co-educational College, which is home to Pre-Preparatory, Preparatory, and Senior Schools and to senior boarding facilities, is situated on a magnificent 32-hectare campus in the Western Cape Winelands.  Two decades into its existence, the school has a well-established reputation for excellence in many spheres, especially academic achievement and outdoor education which aims to teach leadership and resilience.


 

The Preparatory School seeks to employ an energetic, creative and experienced Grade 2 Class Teacher who is passionate about developing young people.   

 

GRADE 2 CLASS TEACHER 

   Commencement Date: 1 January 2022

 

The successful candidate must:

  • have the suitable academic and professional qualifications

  • have knowledge and/or experience with the Cambridge Primary Programme as this will be an added advantage

  • have good interpersonal skills and proven ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team

  • have excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • be able to implement the latest technological trends

  • be comfortable teaching in an online environment 

  • be a strong administrator and possess excellent organisational skills

  • be able to initiate and sustain initiatives

  • uphold the Christian ethos and values of the school

  • have a warm and nurturing disposition

  • be willing to be engaged in the Extra-Curricular Programme

  • be registered with SACE
