Liam Watson and Rebecca Brody participated as part of the WP Cavaliers U15B and U17A teams respectively in this past weekend’s Stellenbosch mini-interpro tournament. Of all 5 teams present at this interpro (WP A, WP B, Northern Cape, Cavaliers A, Cavaliers B), the Cavaliers A team won first prize in all 3 categories (U15, U17 and U19) while the Cavaliers B team took the Bronze in the U15 category. Both Rebecca and Liam played excellent tennis through the two very full days.

Somerset College ended their tennis season strongly last Monday,5 March, when they travelled to Moorreesburg and beat Dirkie Uys High School by 23 matches to 4. Our first team players played exceptionally well, winning all their singles and doubles matches and losing only one mixed doubles match. Somerset College beat Parel Vallei High School in the annual Ashes clash by 10 wickets. Parel Vallei scored 143 all out in their first innings. Gillad ben-Oved took 5 for 42. Somerset College scored 238 in their 1st innings giving Somerset College a lead of 95. Sam Henderson scored 65 and Matthew Beattie 38. Our U15 Boys’ Water Polo team participated in the Grey High School Water Polo Tournament held in Port Elizabeth over the weekend of 2-4 February 2018.  The players were: Jordan Heymans, Dylan Baird, Jake Love, Aidan Ravenscroft, Nicholas Pretorius, Hamish McIntosh, James Visagie, Thomas Evans, Darien Simpson, Dylan Sander, Christian Greener and Jack Falconer.  Their coach was Andrew van Rooyen and Mr Alwyn Brink was the team manager.
