Academic Awards

TERMLY ACADEMIC AWARDS are awarded after each assessment.

Top Ten Award:
A top ten badge and certificate is awarded to the top ten students in each Grade.  This is based on the aggregate. Effort symbols are not taken into account when awarding Top Ten Awards.

Merit Award:
Aggregate of 80% or more (Grade 8 and 9);
Aggregate of 76% or more (Grade 10, 11 and 12)
Effort symbols are not taken into account when awarding Merit Awards.

Academic Excellence:
Awarded to a student who achieves an A aggregate at the end of the term.  Only applicable to Grades 10, 11 and 12. Effort symbols are not taken into account when awarding Merit Awards.

Diligence Award:
Awarded to a student who achieves a full house of A effort symbols in Grade 8 to 12.

ANNUAL AWARDS EVENING
Prestigious awards are made to Matrics at this annual event.

Top Ten:
Awarded to a student who has places in the Top Ten in his/her grade, based on the overall year mark (in this case Term 1, 2 and 3).

Merit:
Awarded to a student who has attained a Merit Award for ALL ASSESSMENTS this year and who is placed in the Top Ten in Grade 8/9.

Half Colours:
Awarded to a student who has attained a merit award in all assessments except one in Grades 9 and 1o combined.

Colours:
Awarded to a student who has attained a merit award in all assessments except one in Grades 10 and 11.

Honours:
Awarded to a student who has attained a minimum of seven A aggregates from Grade 10 to 12

Please note: Students are only eligible for one academic award given in the following order: Honours, Colours, Half Colours, Merit.
