Somerset College Preparatory forms part of the greater Somerset College campus. Surrounded by vineyards and imposing mountain views, the campus has a wholesome country feel, where children are nurtured and developed in safe surroundings.
The Preparatory School was established in January 2001, with approximately 100 children moving here from the then Mountain View Preparatory School. Since then, the school has expanded rapidly and we now have over 400 learners.
Somerset College Preparatory strives to give each child the best possible education in the broadest sense of the word.
Our philosophy towards teaching, and life, is encapsulated in our Code of Conduct (drawn up by the founding pupils) and founded on a strong Christian ethos, with an emphasis on respect, tolerance, courtesy and self-discipline.
We encourage our pupils to do their best in every task, whether easy or difficult. We stimulate and stretch them in an academic sense, and give them the opportunity to try their hand at a range of sporting and cultural activities.
We help them to come to understand and embrace their own strengths and weaknesses and apply themselves with confidence, knowing that no challenge is ever too daunting.
But most of all, we nurture them, in the hope that by the end of their time at the Preparatory School, all our learners will feel a sense of accomplishment and of having been happy at school.
